This psychologically explosive, teeth-scraping, groundbreaking theatre piece delves into the deepest recesses of our collective subconscious and returns with all the guck about teeth we've been repressing for years. Inspired by dada theatre and symbolist surrealism, The Truth About Teeth explores the American culture of Teeth, addressing all of our most primal fears and dental insecurities. Why do we think so much about teeth? Why do teeth take up so much of our time, our thoughts, our energy, and our pocket book? What do teeth mean? New York artist-at-large Jess Rowland has written this psychic teeth cleaning exclusively for Dreamland Theatre. It features a site-specific musical score based around an electric organ re-tuned to scales used in Chinese Opera. Jess Rowland will be present, live in Ypsilanti, for the first weekend of performances! Directed by Naia Venturi. Lollipops will be distributed to audience members at the end of the performance. Come discover the truth about teeth.
